The former Kevin McCallister was the crown prince of the early ‘90s. Culkin will forever be remembered for Home Alone 1 and 2, of course, but there was also melodrama My Girl, odd thriller The Good Son, and quite fun family romp Richie Rich. He made big bucks, palled around with Michael Jackson, and became a household name in his teens. Realistically, there was never going to be any chance of topping that.

And in terms of acting success, he never did. Culkin stepped away from the screen at age fifteen, with as many films already under his belt. While he returned, the passion never quite did. Culkin has other interests - he’s a musician, an online content creator - but his days of superstardom are long gone.

The press often seemed to be set against Culkin, perhaps resenting his astonishing success at such a young age, leaping on his personal problems and career downturn with glee. All signs, however, point to a cinema icon living his best life.
