10 Actors Who Peaked Way Too Soon
5. Jason Biggs
In the wake of so, so many sequels of significantly reduced quality, it can seem crazy just how huge the American Pie franchise once was, but the 1999 original breathed new life into the teen sex comedy genre. At its heart was a fresh faced Jason Biggs, believably gawky as the virginal Jim Levenstein.
It seemed a breakthrough performance for Biggs, who had a deft comic touch and managed to get through the film without coming across too off putting. The franchise was, in its day, a colossal success. And yet, you can barely name another film with the guy in it, let alone in a starring role.
There was Wedding Daze, another smutty comedy that few bothered to see. There were supporting roles in films of little consequence, and every now and then another American Pie movie, but for the star of such a famous franchise it’s surprising how little he did in the aftermath.
He did have a supporting role in Orange Is The New Black, but his character in that was frankly awful, so it’s probably best left unsaid.
