2. Michael Shannon - Elvis & Nixon

No, this isn't a belated sequel to Frost/Nixon, with Michael Sheen swapped out for Michael Shannon (although that isn't all that bad an idea: take note, Hollywood); this is a film starring Shannon as the likes of Elvis Presley, with - who'd have guessed it? - Kevin Spacey playing the infamous President Richard Nixon. It's an odd film to make, that's for sure, but with such talented actors contained with its frames, there's no denying the fact that movie-goers are potentially looking at a future classic. The film document the famous meeting between the disgraced President and a career-late Presley, when the latter turned up at the White House one day with a very, very strange request. In this picture, Kevin Spacey doesn't seem to look any different from his usual self, but Michael Shannon has made the full-on transformation into the King of Rock and Roll (even though he looks nothing like Elvis in real life, of course). Seriously: look at that quiff, people.
