Benedict Cumberbatch is one of few actors in the MCU to act in a scene opposite himself.
It's no secret that the Academy Award nominated star appears as the title character of Doctor Strange. Strange has become a mainstay of the MCU since his first appearance in his 2016 film of the same name, appearing again in Thor: Ragnarok, Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, and What If...? Cumberbatch is set to reprise his role of the sorcerer supreme in the upcoming Spider-Man: No Way Home and Doctor Strange: In the Multiverse of Madness.
However, Doctor Strange isn't the only character Benedict Cumberbatch plays in Doctor Strange. He also performs the performance capture for the villainous Dormammu. As such, in the film's climax, when Doctor Strange confronts Dormammu, offering him a bargain time and time again, Benedict Cumberbatch faces off against Benedict Cumberbatch.
