10 Actors Who Play The Same Character in Every Movie

7. Michael Cera

Style: Adorable Dork Another member of the Arrested Devlopment Alumni, Michael Cera is yet another performer who€™s found himself typecast into the same role repeatedly since the sitcoms€™ initial success (although arguably even more aggressively than fictional father Jason Bateman). Taking one look at Michael Cera, you can clearly tell that the €˜beta-male€™ niche that he was arguably one of the first to carve while playing George Michael Bluth on TV isn€™t all that far from who he is in reality. Despite arguably being ousted as King of the Dorks by Jesse Eisenberg who was nominated for an Oscar for The Social Network, Cera made this style his own not just on TV but in Superbad, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, Youth In Revolt and Juno (amongst many others) in all of which he plays some form of awkward, dorky teenager with a crush on an unattainable girl (sound familiar?) More than most modern actors, Cera is aggressively trapped in his typecast and it makes me question how far the gap between actor and character really is. Cera is one of those performers I think really needs to evolve or he risks falling back into obscurity. Sure, awkward, adorable beta-males are fashionable at the moment but I ask for how long? If he doesn€™t manage to win some roles that force him go against his typical grain, I don€™t exactly see a fruitful, life-long career on the cards.
