10 Actors Who Really Need To Fire Their Agent
7. Matthew McConaughey
Matthew McConaughey has already reinvented his career once before, and may have to do it yet again if this current slump continues for much longer. The 'McConnaissance' was one of the greatest Hollywood comebacks in recent history and propelled the 47 year-old straight to the top of the A-list, but the actor's resurgence has stalled over the last couple of years.
The Sea of Trees, Free State of Jones and Gold were all critical and commercial duds, with even a rejuvenated McConaughey failing to receive much praise for his work. The Dark Tower, the actor's first starring role in a big budget blockbuster since the infamous Sahara, is also predicted to bomb given the project's numerous delays and an underwhelming marketing campaign.
While its still far too early to claim that the McConnaissance is over and the actor should retreat back to taking his shirt off in romantic comedies, McConaughey will need to be very careful when planning the next stage of his career as there's only so many times you can consecutively opt for heavy dramatic material before it starts to become repetitive and ultimately uninteresting.
