Considering how pop-star Justin Bieber pretty much ushered in the entire Twitter culture we're now living in, it only makes sense that he was also involved in one of the ugliest incidents of death threats received on social media. That's not to say that he sent out any death threats, but rather that death threats were sent on his behalf from obsessed fans wishing that Bieber's then-girlfriend Selena Gomez would stay away.

Considering Bieber's massive fanbase of teenage girls, it's really no wonder that they wouldn't take kindly to the idea of their ideal future husband being in a relationship. It's kinda like if The Beatles had been around during Twitter and then Yoko stepped into the picture - except this involved a whole lot more criminal threats.

Some of the tweets promised that "if Selena Gomez breaks Justin Bieber's heart, I will break her face I will kill her without kindness," while others said that, "Selena Gomez is dangerously close to a long, slow painful death." Incorrect grammar usage in these tweets aside, there's nothing to laugh about when it comes to a death threat. Except maybe this one; "I'm gonna kill ya in the night underneath your smell bed." Not exactly funny because, you know, still illegal, but it does make us wonder: what exactly is a 'smell bed?'
