9. Jack Nicholson Didn't Want To Miss Any Lakers Games - The Mosquito Coast
When it comes to devoted fans of the world famous LA Lakers, they perhaps don't come any more dedicated than the legendary Jack Nicholson.
On top of rarely missing a home game since the early 1970's, the iconic star of Batman, The Shining, and The Departed also once turned down the chance to work on a project due to it likely costing him the chance to sit back and watch his beloved yellow and purple NBA team court-side.
Said feature was 1986's The Mosquito Coast and it would've involved the Oscar-winning sensation having to move out to Belize in order to shoot large portions of the jungle-set flick. Clearly putting two and two together and coming to the conclusion that this locale was simply too far away from the STAPLES Center, Nicholson withdrew from the role of Allie Fox.
Harrison Ford was soon brought in to lead the movie instead, starring alongside the likes of Helen Mirren and River Phoenix in a film that very few folks made much of a fuss about upon its eventual release.
Nicholson clearly sensed the season ticket sacrifice wasn't going to be worth the trouble in the end...
