10 Actors Who Refused To Make Sacrifices For Roles
7. Liam Neeson Didn't Want To Lose His Fiancée - GoldenEye
Liam Neeson doesn't just have a particular set of skills that make him a nightmare for human traffickers, he also once had all the attributes needed to be considered for one of the most famous roles in the land.
Coming off of the Academy Awards success of Steven Spielberg's Schindler's List, Neeson was one of the hottest thespians on the market and one who was very high on the list of Bond producer Barbara Broccoli when it came time to throw another 007 into the Aston Martin driver's seat in the 90's.
However, as revealed during a conversation on The Late Late Show with James Corden, the star's late wife, Natasha Richardson, was the main reason he couldn't agree to being handed a license to kill.
As Neeson put it:
"My dear departed wife did say to me – we were doing a movie together in South Carolina – and she says, 'Darling, if you're offered James Bond, and you're going to play it, you're not going to marry me,'"
Despite admitting that he wasn't outright offered the role, it seems clear that Neeson wouldn't have passed up the chance to marry the love of his life to play the serial womaniser on the big screen.
