Jumping back into the world of the small screen now, but instead of actors being de-aged through the wonderful tool of CGI, it was the idea of glossing over reality that left one particular performer putting her foot down.

The warts and all performance produced by Kate Winslet in the outstanding Mare of Easttown stand as some of the Academy Award winner's finest work to date. Yet, the actor had to fight tooth and nail to ensure pieces of her unfiltered performance weren't glossed up by those in the editing suite.

In particular, a scene which involved her character of Mare Sheehan getting it on with Guy Pearce's Richard Ryan almost saw the actor's "bulgy bit of belly", as she put it, digitally touched up in post. Winslet told Bazaar that the proposal led to her telling director Craig Zobel "Don't you dare".

This wasn't the only time Winslet had an issue with excessive alterations during the project, sending the show's poster back to the drawing board on two occasions for the very same reason.
