Fans were extremely quick to point out the differences between the version of Colossus we'd seen smashing up folks in three separate X-Men flicks already and the one who showed up in Ryan Reynolds' passion project. Not only was Deadpool's Colossus a great deal more talkative and noticeably more hench, but he was also entirely CGI, something that deterred former metallic X-Men member Daniel Cudmore from returning to the role altogether.

As the star of X2, The Last Stand, and Days of Future Past explained on Twitter, Cudmore was contacted about reprising the role of Peter Rasputin in the Deadpool flicks. But he was only asked to return in a vocal capacity, with much of the character being brought to life via digital effects and stunt work.

Yet, Cudmore clearly harboured no hard feelings towards Tim Miller and the crew behind the film, confessing that he couldn't wait to see the eventual film and would still "Love 2 play (Colossus) in the future as an actor".
