A second entry for Mister Ford, although not wanting to return for a sequel as replicant hunter Rick Deckard was quite understandable. For a film that has received a cult status and is regarded by many a film buff amongst their favourite movies, the 1982 Ridley Scott directed film had a very chequered past. There was frequent clashes between producers, directors and actors, with genuine creative differences causing many a problem.

While the issues were significant during filming, things only got worse during post-production. With negative test screening results, producers decided to add narrations from Ford to explain things more clearly, which in the process detracted from the foreboding atmosphere that had been created.

While the reports have been disputed by the man himself, it has been rumoured that Harrison Ford was so upset by the idea of narration being added that he deliberately read the lines in as monotone a fashion as possible. Be it fact or urban myth, Ford made it abundantly clear that he had no interest in returning for future Bladerunner movies, although with poor box office returns, the demands were not exactly high.

That was until the release of not one but two directors cuts and every Film studies teacher on the planet using it as their class text. The growing love for the product lead to the production of a sequel being produced, Blade Runner 2049. Despite having Ryan Gosling in the lead and Ford returning as Deckard in a significant supporting role, the film bombed at the box office despite overall positive reviews.
