10 Actors Who Should Play Ben Affleck’s Batman Villains

7. Adrien Brody As The Scarecrow (Dr. Jonathan Crane)

Other contenders: Andy Serkis, Alan Tudyk, Walton Goggins One small problem that a lot of people had with Cillian Murphy's portrayal of Dr. Crane in Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy had nothing to do with the actor and more to do with the fact that the character never really did anything. Perhaps this could be remeded in a future film. The Scarecrow is an overly-obsessive and deranged ex-professor of psychology who uses a variety of drugs and psychological tactics to use the fears and phobias of his adversaries. He does not commit his crimes for wealth, but rather as a form of "research" to further study the effects of fear on humans (later, he does it to satisfy his own psychopathic desires), making the innocent citizens of Gotham his unwilling guinea pigs. We think Adrien Brody would fit this character like a glove. Despite the fact that he already sort of looks the part (he could be in a remake of The Wizard Of Oz and not need a makeup crew) but he has already proven time and time again that he can indeed play insane characters. Seriously, have you seen The Jacket? He literally looked like a scarecrow!
