10 Actors Who Should Play Ben Affleck’s Batman Villains

6. Doug Jones As Man-Bat (Dr. Robert Kirkland Langstrom)

Other contenders: Jason Clarke, Jackie Earle Haley, Edgar Ramirez Former contortionist Doug Jones is best known to science fiction, fantasy, and horror fans for his various roles playing non-human characters, often in heavy makeup, in films such as Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Hellboy, Pan's Labyrinth, Falling Skies and Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. In other words, completely changing his appearance for a role is nothing new to this guy. Dr. Kirk Langstrom is a scientist who specializes in the study of bats. He develops an extract intended to give humans a bat's sonar sense and tests the formula on himself because he is becoming deaf. The extract works, but it has a horrible side effect: it transforms him into a hideous man-sized bat. The serum also takes away his intelligence, so he goes on a mad rampage as he attempts to reverse the effects. The versatile Jones and Man-Bat are practically made for each other. Not only has Jones proved that he doesn't mind spending a few hours a day getting makeup applied but he's also proven that he can scare the crap out of us while doing so.
