10 Actors Who Should Play Future James Bond Movie Villains
9. Emilia Clarke
After 8 seasons of ‘Game of Thrones’, Emilia Clarke built Daenerys Targaryen into one of television’s greatest heroines and then flip the character on its head to create a mad tyrant.
While you may not like that shift, you can’t deny that Clarke clearly has the acting chops to carry off an effective villain and if done right, she could bring a welcome change of pace to James Bond’s long list of rivals. One option would be to make her someone Bond trusts completely, only for her to be revealed in the final act as the ‘big bad’ behind it all.
Indeed, making her the ‘big bad’, rather than a mere femme fatale would set her apart from the likes of Vesper Lynn, who was ultimately just a pawn in a much bigger game.
Also, if 007 didn’t become romantically involved with her character and instead relied on her to watch his back, it would create a relationship we haven’t seen Bond have very often. It would show her to be his equal, and when combined with some witty exchanges, that Clarke can pull off easily, a strong apparent friendship would be formed. The then sudden betrayal would have an even greater impact, leaving a lasting impression on Bond that could even pass on future films.
More than anything, it would just be brilliant to see Clarke in another challenging role that she can make her own, and as a Bond villain, she could do something very special.
