When it comes to actors that would be ideal for playing Spider-Man when the character is eventually recast, Logan Lerman is both one of the most obvious and most suitable choices for the role. A front-runner during the casting process for The Amazing Spider-Man, Lerman's age worked against him at the time because by Hollywood logic, 18 was too young to be playing a high-school student, with the 27 year-old Andrew Garfield cast instead. Since then, Lerman has greatly improved as an actor and has now firmly established himself as one of the industry's brightest young talents. Just 22 years of age, the fresh-faced actor could pass for even younger and if Marvel wants to reintroduce Spider-Man to audiences in a younger iteration, then he is ideal for the part. Lerman is no stranger to working on big-budget CGI-laden blockbusters thanks to two Percy Jackson movies and Darren Aronofsky's Noah, while The Perks of Being A Wallflower showcased his dramatic capabilities. Most recently, Lerman was a revelation in Fury, giving the movie's best performance in a pivotal supporting role. If Spider-Man does show up in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the character needs to be played by an actor that wouldn't be overshadowed by the likes of Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth's larger-than-life superheroes. Having held his own onscreen against talents such as Christian Bale, Russell Crowe and Brad Pitt, Logan Lerman wouldn't be fazed in the slightest by taking on such an iconic role, and the ever-improving youngster would also fit nicely into Marvel Studios' bracket tying down affordable up-and-coming stars on multi-picture contracts.
