10 Actors Who Sound NOTHING Like You Would Imagine

8. Tom Holland

True Blood Sookie
Marvel Studios

Tom Holland may have a long and prosperous acting career ahead of him but it's a safe bet he will always be associated with his portrayal as the web-slinging, wallcrawling Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Even though he sounds like he's from Queens while playing the iconic superhero, Holland is from Kingston upon Thames, England.

When Holland isn't portraying the wisecracking Avenger, he still tends to play a Yank in projects like The Devil All the Time and the upcoming films, Cherry and Uncharted. Even when he played a dog in Dolittle or an elf in Onward, he still had an American accent!

Despite spending most of his movie career speaking in an American accent than in his actual voice, he still struggles with the dialect. He had to redub many of his lines for Spider-Man: Homecoming during post-production because he sounded too British. Ironically, the hardest word for Holland to say like an American is, of all things, Spider-Man! To the surprise of absolutely nobody, this problem has caused him to ruin endless takes while filming scenes in the MCU.
