10 Actors Who Spent FOREVER Preparing For Tiny Movie Roles

8. Will Poulter - The Bear

Hail Caesar Channing Tatum
FX

Will Poulter makes an unexpected appearance in the brilliant recent second season of The Bear, showing up in a single episode as Luca, a desert chef who trains Marcus (Lionel Boyce) in Copenhagen.

Poulter's screen time throughout the episode amounts to around 10 minutes, which in the fast-moving world of TV production was just two days of shooting.

Yet Poulter, a huge fan of the show before being hired, enthusiastically accepted the challenge of training to convincingly portray a skilled pastry chef on screen, spending several months prior to shooting working in various kitchens around London.

Though Poulter acknowledged that it was "a lot of prep" for a mere two days of filming, he added that he wouldn't have had it any other way, calling the entire process "one of the most special experiences of [his] life."

And it absolutely paid off, given that Poulter's performance was widely acclaimed, easily passing the sniff test where persuasively playing a master chef is concerned.
