1. Jim Caviezel - Struck By Lightning (Passion Of The Christ)
If you're filming a story about Jesus and get struck by lightning do you strike it down to God being angry or Zeus being jealous?
The Passion Of The Christ set proved that miracles do happen when not lightning struck not once, not twice, but thrice on set.
Jan Michelini, an assistant on set, was struck twice in the space of a few days whilst filming this Oscar winning epic and Jim Caviezel, who played Jesus, was struck once as he was delivering the sermon on the mount scene.
When Caviezel was hit, witnesses said that fire was coming out of his head whilst his body lit up like a Christmas tree. The cameras weren't rolling during the lightning strike and director Mel Gibson had no idea it had happened until he arrived on set, saw Caviezel and asked why his hair was so funny looking.
The actor certainly suffered for his craft when he was also accidentally flogged during the famous whipping scene. The actor doing the lashing overhit the blocking board and connected with Caviezel's bare back, tearing the flesh so severely it left the actor gasping for air.
