7. Natalie Wood Drowns By "Undetermined" Circumstances
Who Are They?: Starlet best known for working on Miracle on 34th Street, Splendor in the Grass, Rebel Without a Cause, and West Side Story, and having the incredible distinction of racking up 3 Oscar nominations before she turned 25.
Cause of Death: While filming her last picture, Brainstorm, Wood drowned while on a boat with husband Robert Wagner and Christopher Walken on November 29th, 1981. The circumstances of her death remain mysterious, as neither the two actors nor the boat's captain claim to have seen Wood fall into the water. Wagner and Wood had apparently argued the night before, and Wood's body was found with both alcohol and medication in her bloodstream, the combined effects of which it was ruled may have caused her to fall into the water. In January of this year, the coroner's office amended Wood's autopsy report, stating that some of he bruises found on her body may have occurred before her death, though it could not be determined for sure. Conspiracy theorists like to point the finger at Robert Wagner being responsible, while an outrageous report from the National Enquirer suggests that Wagner and Walken were caught having sex by Wood, but alas, we'll never know for sure.
