While Precious is mostly remembered as the movie that Gabourey Sidibe excelled unexpectedly in out of nowhere, her co-star Mo'Nique - who played her abusive, heinous mother, Mary - was the one who picked up the greater accolade as she bested Sidibe's Oscar nomination with a win for Best Supporting Actress.

It was a role that saw the stand-up comedian play completely against type - and once more prove the acting prowess of funny people - and it could have been expected that she'd continue in a similar vein after the win, given her success.

But since the Oscar win, she's been in a grand total of five movies - none of which youd' even be aware of - and it wasn't through choice. Her professional suffering, in her own words, is because she allegedly clashed with director Lee Daniels and producers Tyler Perry and Oprah Winfrey on Precious' set and she was subsequently blackballed by Hollywood. Harsh.
