10 Actors Who Totally Blew Star Wars Auditions

2. Glen Powell

Glen Powell is on quite the roll right now between Top Gun: Maverick, Anyone But You, Hit Man, and the upcoming Twisters, but he very nearly came to mainstream prominence a few years earlier, as he was one of Disney's final prospects to portray a young Han Solo in Solo: A Star Wars Story.

In a recent interview with GQ, Powell revealed that he came extremely close to winning the role, but "blew that final audition," prompting Disney to go with Alden Ehrenreich instead.

It was a crushing blow for Powell, who was struggling to become a known quantity in Hollywood at the time, though added that given his recent successes, he "can joke about it now."

It's certainly easy to see how Powell would've been a fine fit for the role of young Han, rocking both the chiselled looks and cocksure charm necessary to pull it off.

But at the same time, Ehrenreich did a stellar job with a basically thankless task, so perhaps everything worked out for the best.
