6. Molly Ringwald I Can't Play Vivian the Prostitute Because I Don't Want To Play A High Schooler Anymore
In the 1980's Molly Ringwald was America's high school sweetheart with roles in Sixteen Candles and Pretty in Pink. By the 90's, however, Ringwald was trying to put her high school days behind her. So much so that she turned down two iconic roles, Vivian in Pretty Woman, a breakout role for Julia Roberts and Molly in Ghost, a breakout role for Demi Moore. I could see turning down the role of Molly because the character was dripping in high school sweetness but Vivian? I mean you can't remove yourself further from playing a schoolgirl than playing a prostitute, even if it is a classy one with a heart of gold. She did however succeed in getting away from high school romances, perhaps a little to well she hasn't had more than a cameo role in any movie since the 2000's.
