3. John Travolta - Sorry Forest Gump And Green Mile, I Try To Stick To Roles That Require Me to Sing and Dance
John Travolta turned down Forrest Gump and the role of Paul Edgecomb in the Green Mile. What was he thinking? Both roles were award-winning for Tom Hanks and just catapulted him whatever is after the A-list. (perhaps the A+ List). Had those roles gone to Travolta he would have been able to cut his acting chops on decent dramatic roles. Yet based on his filmography he chooses to stick close to roles that require a song and dance. In his defense, he probably turned down Forrest Gump for Pulp Fiction which got some Academy nods but there was no reason to turn down the Green Mile. All he did in 1999 was lend his voice to the movie, Our Friend Kyle does anyone remember that?
