Or someone else.

The wonderful thing about comic book characters, and how they are brought to the big screen by Marvel Studios in particular, is that there is a blueprint to work with, but there is always the potential for something new. Something different. Creative licence is always a possibility.

In this way, it is possible for Captain Britain to be the dream MCU role of both Henry Cavill, and Simon Pegg. Though the two actors have worked together in the Mission Impossible franchise, they are very different actors, and there aren’t many roles in Hollywood both could be considered for.

Pegg however, would bring a very different style of superhero to life, particularly with his comedy background and age. Though he is well aware that the latter may rule him out of the running, nothing is certain. He is only 51 years old, younger than the likes of Paul Rudd, Robert Downey Jr., and Mark Ruffalo.

It was back in 2018 that Pegg stated in an interview his desire to play Captain Britain, and though this was four years ago, his reasoning was that he loved the character as a child. This won’t have changed in the last few years, and he would surely still jump at the chance to add the MCU to his very impressive nerdy repertoire that includes Star Trek, Star Wars, The Boys, and more.
