9. Ryan Gosling Tried To Get Rachel McAdams Fired From The Notebook

Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams shot to fame after they played a couple in what is still probably one of your sister's favourite films, though behind-the-scenes it wasn't all wistful glances and romance: it's well-known that these two very beautiful human beings shared something of a turbulent relationship. Heck, they hated one another.

Despite the fact that their on-screen chemistry is fantastic, Gosling and McAdams didn't get on - so much so that Gosling made it his mission to get McAdams fired.

Seriously: Gosling refused to act with McAdams, and asked for a stand-in to be used whenever they had a scene together. Soon enough, the pair ended up in a meeting with one of the producers, where Gosling proceeded to try and get McAdams thrown off the film. This soon divulged into a screaming match, which - luckily - relieved most of the tension. The next day, they were back on set and all was fine.

It is a testament to the weirdness of both human beings and relationships in general that Gosling and McAdams later became a couple. In the end it wasn't hate as much as it was an incalculable amount of sexual tension, apparently.
