7. Frank - Henry Fonda (Once Upon A Time In The West)
Western iconic Henry Fonda was originally hesitant to play the now iconic bad guy Frank in Sergio Leone's operatic masterpiece
Once Upon A Time In The West, given that he had spent much of his long career playing good guys and building his reputation as a leading man. But Leone swayed the actor when he flew to the United States to convince him: "Picture this: the camera shows a gunman from the waist down pulling his gun and shooting a running child. The camera pans up to the gunman's face and... it's Henry Fonda." Fonda was apparently taken with the idea of him murdering a child and signed on for what would become his greatest role. Prior to this turn, he had only played a villain on a few minor occassions... he was better at it, in my opinion.
