Since their marriage in 1984, Frances McDormand has appeared in seven movies directed by her husband Joel Coen (and his brother Ethan). Starting with their first feature Blood Simple, she later starred in Raising Arizona, Fargo, The Man Who Wasn't There, and Burn After Reading.

She also had cameos in Miller's Crossing and Barton Fink. However, some of the Coen Brother's biggest movies such as The Big Lebowski, True Grit, and No Country For Old Men did not have a part for McDormand.

The couple gets to share the fun fact that she is the only actress to win a Best Actress Oscar while being directed by her husband (Fargo). They're currently working together on a new version of Macbeth, set to be released in 2021.
