It’s safe to say that Michael B. Jordan has enjoyed a successful career so far on the big screen, and still only 36 years of age, there is plenty more to come from the Californian.

The actor has borne the fruit of his labours from films such as Chronicle, Fruitvale Station, Just Mercy and, of course, the refreshed and revitalised Rocky franchise, Creed.

It’s evident to see that Jordan relishes the work. However, this methodology of commitment certainly left its mark on him following his Black Panther hiatus back in 2018.

Jordan is responsible for portraying one of the MCU’s greatest and most three-dimensional villains to date in the form of Erik Killmonger, a vicious former mercenary who seizes his chance to claim Wakanda’s throne as his own to avenge his fallen ancestors.

Marvel is known for putting its talent through their paces in arduous fitness and physical regimes, but Killmonger proved a tough gig for the actor.

Speaking on The Bill Simmons Podcast, Jordan publicised the emotional and psychological toll the role took on him and how he sought the help of a therapist to cope, as “Once I got finished wrapping the movie, it took me some time to talk through how I was feeling and why I was feeling so sad and like a little bit depressed.”

Undeniably a tall task, Jordan made sure to knock it out of the park, nonetheless.
