10 Actors Who Were Horribly Mismatched To Their Character Professions

5. Owen Wilson - U.S Army Flight Officer (Behind Enemy Lines)

Owen-Wilson-in-Behind-Enemy-Lines-2001-Movie-Image I love Owen Wilson like I love my own brother - maybe more, because my brother hasn't made a bunch of cool movies. Wilson's strengths are in playing all-round nice guys who spout occasionally funny lines, and I'm happy to keep on watching him do that until the day both he and I die in a secret mission that the government demands we go on. Now and again, though, Wilson has tried on some weighty roles for size to varying effects. His turn as U.S. Army Flight Officer Lieutenant Chris Burnett in the relatively awful Behind Enemy Lines is one of his attempts at weightiness that didn't go very well, given that - no matter how hard you try - it's near impossible to not see Owen Wilson as one of his more amusing characters. And it's not really like he does much else to convince you otherwise. The movie was anyway, but it didn't help that Wilson didn't feel like a real military man for a second.
