10 Actors Who Were Injured In Dumb Ways On Set

a-clockwork-orange600 The most famous actors command extortionate fees in the multi-millions of dollars to film a single movie. Though many argue that their wages are far too immense for their line of work, these people do not understand the dangerous conditions that they have to work for. Tons of electrical equipment, pyrotechnics, tall sets and being cast alongside Keanu Reeves can be hazardous for not only your career, but your life. Actors live on the ragged edge of life and every time they step onto the set they are putting their lives on the line. The potential for accidents, like Lindsay Lohan in rehab, is ever-present. They have to contend with a number of variables that could go haywire at any point in time; children, animals, CGI, etc. And many insist on performing their own stunts despite their millionaire lifestyles, high insurance premiums and the fact that there are literally thousands of people that would throw themselves down a flight of stairs if they got ten seconds of footage in a prominent motion picture. Therefore, it is no surprise that there have been numerous cases of star actors getting injured whilst filming, many of which hold up production of the film for months. Of course, these injuries are understandable if they happened whilst filming an action packed scene where one false move could result in sprains, cuts or broken bones. But if filming scenes for something like Love Actually it is a little less comprehensible, unless the actors just intentionally felt the need to injure themselves to stop it being released. So, the following is a list of renowned actors that have succumbed to silly and unnecessary injuries during filming their latest blockbuster. There will be some that are a part of this list due to their own misguided dalliances, and some that were simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. And a few make it on due to the sheer number of injuries they have sustained in that most dangerous of professions: actor. But what they all have in common is that they were certainly avoidable and would leave many scratching their heads as to how they were allowed to happen.
