10 Actors Who Were Miscast As The Villain

6. Arnold Schwarzenegger (Mr. Freeze) - Batman & Robin

Fantastic Beasts

While he may have gone on to become one of the most influential action heroes of all time, the fact one of Arnold Schwarzenegger's first-ever big-screen smashes involved the hulking sensation playing a physically imposing villain in the form of The Terminator was enough of a reason for fans to assume Arnie was well equipped for the life of a supervillain.

How wrong they were, eh?

Instead of doubling down on the more tragic elements of a character who often resorts to nefarious means in his bid to find a cure for his wife's illness, the decision was made to introduce a far more cartoonish and all-round sillier version of Mr. Freeze in Joel Schumacher's Batman & Robin.

And while Arnie does what he can with a never-ending string of ice-puns and one of the more ridiculous costumes ever committed to the big-screen, his undeniable enthusiasm as Dr. Victor Fries opposite George Clooney's Batman still sits in the middle of one of the most jarring pieces of Bat-casting to date.

Here's hoping Matt Reeves doesn't make a similar mistake should he ever decide to unleash another Freeze on the masses in the coming years, eh?
