10 Actors Who Were Uncredited For Insane Reasons

8. To Avoid Violating His Contract With Another Project - Rob Lowe (Tommy Boy)

Rob Lowe has a relatively substantial supporting role in cult comedy Tommy Boy as Tommy's (Chris Farley) older stepbrother Paul Barrish, and so it's hardly the sort of role you'd expect an actor to go uncredited for.

It wasn't a mere throwaway cameo Lowe simply did as a favour, so fans have been routinely mystified by his bizarre absence in the credits.

As it turns out, Lowe was already signed to star in the miniseries adaptation of Stephen King's novel The Stand, and his contract prevented him from appearing in any other projects during the production period.

And so, because Lowe desperately wanted to appear in his friend Chris Farley's film, he managed to avoid any legally actionable behaviour by simply playing his part in Tommy Boy uncredited.

Basically, Lowe got to have his cake and eat it too, skirting a potential lawsuit while getting to star in both of his desired projects.
