10 Actors Who Were Wasted In Their Franchise Return

1. Mark Hamill - Star Wars: The Force Awakens

Star Wars The Force Awakens Luke Skywalker

We waited over three decades to finally see our three favourite space heroes return to the big screen.

Harrison Ford's Han Solo hadn't missed a glorious step and was still blasting his way out of trouble. Carrie Fisher was now portraying a Leia who had fully grown into her role as General of the Resistance and Mark Hamill...well, we didn't get to see much of Mark Hamill now, did we?

From the very moment the opening crawl announced 'Luke Skywalker has vanished', fans' bottoms were clenching all around the world.

But, that was fine. He'd no doubt be found at some point in the film and proceed to help the team conquer the evil First Order, right?

Despite it seeming like he was about to save the day once his famous lightsaber began to suddenly move in the snow, Luke only appeared in the closing shot of the long awaited sequel.

We'd only find out what he was doing on Ahch-To two years later in The Last Jedi, meaning the monumental return of one of cinema's most recognisable heroes lasted all of a few seconds.

He'd definitely have his moment to shine in TLJ, but would it have been too much to ask for a bit more of everyone's favourite Jedi after over 30 years of Luke-less live action Star Wars outings?

It felt like a waste of Mark Hamill's brilliant talents and the reveal left more fans fuming than it did pondering over the future of his arc.
