10 Actors Who Will Never Escape Their Doctor Who Roles
5. Carole Ann Ford
Also known as The One Who Started It All. Carole Ann Ford got the timey-wimey ball rolling back in 1963 when she was introduced as the first ever TARDIS co-reisdent, Susan Foreman, in An Unearthly Child. To say that the companion role has changed dramatically since the early days would be the understatement of half a century. And it almost ruined Carole's career. Those are her words, not ours, as the actress has revealed that no casting directors even gave her a chance as soon as they associated her with her screaming, moaning and practically pointless portrayal of the Doctor's granddaughter. She's put it all behind her, though, as she was more than happy to partake in the show's 50th anniversary festivities in 2013, albeit not in the series itself. Fans are still hopeful that she'll return to the show one day, however, since the Doctor has seemingly forgotten that he promised her that he'd come back. It's never too late, though, as a wise person once said. Kylie, we think.
