10 Actors Who Will No Longer Work Together

7. Julia Roberts And Nick Nolte

While Reese Witherspoon and Vince Vaughn decided to under-play their on-set friction as much as possible, Julia Roberts and Nick Nolte took another approach.

The two played lovers in 1994 romcom I Love Trouble, but did little to hide their distaste for one another whilst filming. Things got so tense between the stars whilst they were shooting that they refused to be in the same room together at one point, using stand-ins when their characters were required to act opposite each other.

Also, around the time she was working on the project, Roberts even went as far as to tell The New York Times that "naturally we get on each other's nerves" before explaining that Nolte could be "completely charming and very nice ... he's also completely disgusting." Tell us how you really feel, Julia.

Not taking Roberts' comments lying down, Nolte would later retort that “it’s not nice to call someone ‘disgusting.’ But she’s not a nice person. Everyone knows that."

Again, judging from the pair's lack of screen-time together since, it's safe to assume these two are in no mood to star alongside each other again in the future.
