8. Taylor Swift - Cats

It's still tough to believe that Les Misérables' Tom Hooper is currently shooting an all-star Hollywood adaptation of the hit musical Cats, with Hooper reportedly using CGI to make his cast more feline in appearance.

While Hooper has roped in the respected likes of Idris Elba, Judi Dench, Ian McKellen and Jennifer Hudson, there's one name among the cast that sticks out like a sore thumb: Taylor Swift.

The pop icon will play the role of flirtatious cat Bombalurina, which raised more than its fair share of eyebrows among fans of the musical when it was announced.

Though Swift's vocal talents aren't in question, she not only seems too young to play the part but is also too much of a star to blend in among the ensemble. Fingers crossed the CGI work is extensive enough to help out with that somewhat.

Ultimately Swift's involvement reeks of stunt casting in a desperate attempt to get more eyes on the film, which is foolishly set to release the same day as Star Wars: Episode IX (December 20).

Her singing will be fine, of course, but any actual acting and emoting she's required to do? It's tough to be optimistic.
