10 Actors Who Won't Be Coming Back For Upcoming Sequels
9. Jason Clarke - War For The Planet Of The Apes
Jason Clarke is one of the those Hollywood actors who is yet to establish himself as an an A-lister, despite appear as a lead character in a number of huge blockbusters, including Everest, Terminator: Genisys, and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.
It was in the latter that he played a guy named "Malcolm," of course, the de facto leader of a band of humans trying to survive in the wake of a devastating virus.
As was the case with James Franco and the original Rise of the Planet of the Apes flick, Clarke is set to follow franchise tradition by way of not appearing in the forthcoming War for the Planet of the Apes, which is set two years after the period depicted in Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. Thus his character, Malcolm, despite surviving the events of the second movie, will never be seen or heard from again.
What It Means For The Film:
If there was no place in the story for Malcolm, then it's probably a good thing that he wasn't included. Besides, his absence does give the series on the whole a nice sense of continuity in the way that each film has a new human character at its core. The next film features Woody Harrelson as a mad Colonel - oh boy!
