10 Actors Whose Career Has BOMBED After Their Biggest Hit
3. Billy Zane - Titanic
Like basically every single actor involved with James Cameron's Titanic, the Best Picture-winning blockbuster is the most successful film of Billy Zane's career.
Zane, who just three years prior had starred in the atrocious spoof The Silence of the Hams, wasn't exactly going places before Titanic, and the film absolutely should've elevated his stature in Hollywood, especially given that he was quite terrific as the villainous Caledon Hockley.
Despite having his strong work presented on such a massive stage, though, Zane's post-Titanic career has largely been a non-event of commercial bombs and films critics didn't even bother to see.
Less than a decade later he was stuck starring in Uwe Boll movies (BloodRayne) and erotic thrillers (Three), and it wasn't until 2011 that one of his films was again commercially successful - The Roommate, which rocks a cool 4% on the Tomatometer.
These days most of Zane's appearances in major media are ironic as-himself cameos, and there's sadly little indication things are going to uptick anytime soon.
Compare all this to his co-stars Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio, who between them have received 10 Oscar nominations since Titanic with one win each.
