10 Actors Whose Careers TANKED After Winning Oscars
9. Faye Dunaway
Faye Dunaway won a Best Actress Oscar for her phenomenal performance in 1977's Network - her third nomination and first win. But in one of the most damning instance of the "Oscar curse" in action, Dunaway's career fell off a cliff in a matter of years and never recovered.
After a string of critical and commercial hits throughout the 1970s, the '80s marked a severe downturn for the actress, who appeared in the panned likes of Mommy Dearest, The Wicked Lady, Supergirl, and a glut of low-rent TV movies most critics didn't even bother reviewing.
Dunaway's career freefall continued through the '90s, and by 1998 she'd received a stonking eight Razzie nominations and three wins, including a "Worst Actress of the Decade" nod in 1990.
Most depressingly of all, Dunaway never again received an Oscar nomination after getting her first Razzie nod, yet up until a few years ago she still worked regularly on low-budget schlock, with very occasional appearances in critically mauled Hollywood fare like The Bye Bye Man.
Has an actress this talented ever fallen off this hard for this long? Probably not.
