10 Actors Whose Movies Eerily Foreshadowed Their Real Death
5. Brittany Murphy
An example of a life and career cut desperately short, Brittany Murphy collapsed in her bathroom and passed away in December 2009 due to pneumonia, anaemia and complications caused by prescription medications. Nevertheless, in her brief time she racked up numerous credits and proved herself a likeable, quirky screen presence. Murphys breakthrough came as naïve, wide-eyed Tai in Clueless but she quickly showed that this performance was no fluke with classy supporting efforts in Drop Dead Gorgeous and Girl, Interrupted. While often excelling in idiosyncratic comedy roles, she also proved that she was capable of fine dramatic performances in Dont Say a Word and 8 Mile. As comfortable starring in rom-com fare like Just Married as she was inhabiting the murky noir of Sin City or voice acting in Happy Feet and King of the Hill, Murphy demonstrated the ability to move across genres with impressive ease. However, the manner of her death cast some of her on-screen moments in a spooky light. In Girl, Interrupted, Winona Ryder finds Murphys character dead in the bathroom, but worse still was the publicity campaign for direct-to-video release Deadline, which came out three weeks before her death. Posters for the film depicted a lifeless Murphy lying in a bathtub, and Redbox quickly moved to recall as many of these chilling images as possible.
I watch movies and I watch sport. I also watch movies about sport, and if there were a sport about movies I'd watch that too. The internet was the closest thing I could find.
