Encino Man - or as it's called in some territories, California Man - may not be a great movie, but it does undeniably boast one of Brendan Fraser's most memorable performances as Link, a prehistoric caveman who gets accidentally frozen in ice and thawed out in the 20th century. Hijinks ensue.

Despite being pilloried by critics, Encino Man was a box office success and went on to become a cult classic, enough that Fraser actually reprised the part twice in two other Buena Vista movies in the two years that followed.

Fraser first made a cameo as Link in 1993's Pauly Shore comedy Son in Law, showing up at a party and briefly crossing paths with Shore - who was himself in Encino Man - and also showing up briefly in Shore's 1994's film In the Army Now, again meeting up with Shore's protagonist.

In both cases Shore is visibly baffled by Link's appearance, offering up an amusing duo of in-jokes in two movies that otherwise delivered desperately little on the comedy front.
