10 Actors You Didn't Realise Hated Each Other
7. Mike Myers & Dana Carvey
The Wayne's World movies are so damn hilarious in large part due to the superb comedic chemistry between stars Mike Myers and Dana Carvey, yet the duo ended up falling out following the release of Myers' hit 1997 comedy Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery.
The crux of the fractured friendship was that Carvey in fact came up with the voice and physical mannerisms for Austin Powers' villain Dr. Evil, which Carvey styled as an impression of Saturday Night Live boss Lorne Michaels.
Carvey regularly performed his caricature of Michaels backstage at SNL, and when Myers used the impression without permission in Austin Powers, it drove a wedge between them.
The pair were then estranged for the better part of two decades, despite very occasionally appearing together in-character as Wayne and Garth.
By 2019, though, Carvey confirmed in an interview with Howard Stern that he'd "basically let it go," with the two then appearing together at the 2019 Oscars and also in-character as Wayne and Garth for a 2021 Super Bowl commercial.
Carvey added that working on the commercial helped them "come full circle," and they've been in much closer contact since. You love to see it.
