7. Ralph Fiennes
Ralph Fiennes is one of those well-respected, older British actors you always assumed had won an Oscar for some drama you never saw. Unfortunately, this is not the case for Fiennes, and the insanely versatile thespian has yet to actually take home an Oscar, despite absolutely deserving one.
For a man who nearly won a Supporting Actor statue for his first major role in Schindlers List, its amazing to see the range hes added since then. Fiennes may be the go-to actor for playing haunting villains thanks to films like Red Dragon and the Harry Potter series, but hes also proven to have a great handle of comedy as well.
Speaking of his most prominent comedic role, Fiennes does seem to be in a unique position to get some recompense from the Academy. His lack of a nomination for The Grand Budapest Hotel just last year led to a massive outcry, so perhaps the Academy will take more notice of him the next time he wows everyone with a part.
