10 Actors You Wrongly Think Are In Movies

9. Matthew McConaughey - The Dark Knight Rises

The World's End
Warner Bros.

Christopher Nolan fans are a passionate bunch, and even an entire decade after the release of The Dark Knight Rises, some are still absolutely convinced that Matthew McConaughey makes an uncredited cameo in the movie's unforgettable prologue sequence.

When Bane (Tom Hardy) is exfiltrated from a CIA plane mid-air, we catch a brief look at the pilot, who many maintain is McConaughey in disguise, foreshadowing that he would lead Nolan's next film, Interstellar.

And while the man certainly looks broadly similar to the actor from a side profile, it's just not him.

Beyond the fact that nobody, least not McConaughey himself, has ever talked about the cameo, Nolan almost certainly hadn't cast Interstellar's lead at the time that The Dark Knight Rises was being shot.

This is nothing more than a wishful connecting of the dots, as much as we'd all love it to be true.
