10 Actors You Wrongly Think Are In Movies

8. Carrie Fisher - Blade Runner

The World's End
Lucasfilm & Warner Bros.

Speaking of connecting the dots, Star Wars fans wanted so desperately to believe that Carrie Fisher had a cameo in another of her co-star Harrison Ford's classic sci-fi flicks.

If you Google "Carrie Fisher Blade Runner," you'll be bombarded with social media posts featuring an image of an actress who appears to be Carrie Fisher on the set of Ridley Scott's 1982 sci-fi masterpiece.

This claim did the rounds enough that it eventually reached Carrie Fisher herself, who in 2015 confirmed on Twitter that the image wasn't of her. The actress was actually later identified as Dee Giffin Scott, who played an uncredited policewoman in the film.

Granted, given that Scott is wearing a features-concealing cap and does bear a superficial resemblance to Fisher, it's easy to see why so many people bought it.

Plus, don't we all want to believe that Fisher stopped by the Blade Runner set and worked a day as an extra?
