Though 2011 drama Higher Ground isn't as well-known as the other movies on this list, it merits inclusion because star Vera Farmiga didn't only act in the film while pregnant, she also freaking directed it while expecting a child.

The indie drama about a woman's lifelong struggles with faith saw a pregnant Farmiga pulling double duty as both lead actress and director, and by the time post-production was completed, she was just about ready to give birth. In her own words:

"My three trimesters matched the three trimesters on Higher Ground: pre-production, shooting and post-production. I’ll probably never do it again! Or maybe I might, because I have to say I’m invincible during my second trimester of pregnancy - I have a surplus of energy and power I only experience at that time. But the first trimester is pretty miserable. Morning sickness is an all-day and all-night affair."

Higher Ground didn't win any Oscars nor did it make huge bank at the box office, but it's impossible not to respect the sheer force of will required to wear so many hats at once on top of being an expectant mother.
