10 Aging Actors Who Could Totally Pull Off An Action Comeback

2. Antonio Banderas

Age: 54 Antonio Banderas' lack of recent success is something of a mystery. It's odd Hollywood isn't creating more vehicles for the actor - he was incredible in The Skin I Live In, one of his rare recent successes, and those who bothered to watch The Expendables 3 at least got to see Banderas being one of the best things in it, appearing far younger than his 54 years. Like Keanu, Banderas also still appears agile enough to make a go of it as a physical action star. He's got the acting chops to make the so-often generic action movie compelling and he's shown he's not afraid to appear in genre cinema and movies that might typically be considered 'lowbrow' (see Machete Kills and Shrek). The last time Banderas starred in a really successful action movie (The Mask Of Zorro - 17 years ago), he brought some real fun to the genre. And in Haywire, Banderas' last relatively decent action film, he was suitably serious and shady. Banderas is versatile enough to fit into action movies of varying tone and style, plus dude knows his way around a one-liner.
