10 Alternative Comics That Would Make Killer Movies

6. Scalped

Plot: After 15 years away Dashiell Bad Horse returns to his reservation and promptly starts working as a ruthless enforcer for the tribal police force. However, Dash Bad Horse is really a FBI agent under orders to investigate the murder of two FBI agents decades earlier in Jason Aaron's action packed comic. The Pitch: Donnie Brasco down on the 'Rez. Why It Would Make A Killer Movie: This thrilling series is a perfect example of a comic without superpowers but with plenty of action and depth. The fights are brutal as protagonist Horse smashes meth labs (and their occupants) into pieces trying to undercover the truth behind two old murders. Scalped has great characters and some well-handled social commentary about the Reservoir, and it delivers a tightly-plotted tale that draws inspiration from detective fiction of the past but with the action ramped up to 11. The biggest draw has to be Dashiell Bad Horse though. IGN ranked Dash as the 62nd Greatest Comic Book Hero of All Time, stating he shows us how dark you can go with an anti-hero but still make an audience root for him. Translated; it means he's one bad mother-trucker.
