1. Keanu Reeves - John Wick

Keanu was having a relatively quiet couple of years until 2013 when he starred in 47 Ronin, a film that lost an estimated $152m (making it the second biggest box-office bomb of all-time). Adding insult the injury, the film and Reeves' performance were both widely panned. A lot of Reeves' performances have been panned in recent years. The actor who made his name in favourites Bill & Ted, Speed and The Matrix wasn't doing a whole lot but big-budget special effects laden disaster movies, poor action films and little-seen indies. He probably breathed a sigh of relief then when John Wick, another macho action film, actually turned out to be good. Critics John Wick's breathtaking action sequences and, particularly, Reeves' performance in the title roll. He carries the film, which has a more-than-capable supporting cast including the likes of Willem Dafoe and Ian McShane. If Keanu can retain this kind of form then a future sequel (or sequels) will be more than welcome.
